Go Fish BC - Learn to Fish Program

The Learn to Fish Program offered by the Freshwater Fisheries Society of BChas been established in 2006 in cooperation with the Ministry of Environment, BC Conservation Corps and ActNow BC.

Learn to Fish instructors will be giving basic angling skills to youth that have no or little angling experience. The daily sessions will include learn-to-fish tips, environmental awareness, angling ethics and just plain, old-fashioned fun.

The 2008 program begins in May at Timber Lake – Surrey, BC
  • May 1st 6 pm to 8 pm
  • May 10th 10 am to 12 pm
  • May 15th 6 pm to 8 pm
  • May 22nd 6 pm to 8 pm
  • May 31st 10 am to 12 pm

That's a cool program. I don't remember not knowing how to fish, but then my grandparents and parents fish. If you don't know anyone who fishes, a program like this could be invaluable.

We’re very fortunate here in British Columbia to have several programs aiming to get more people involved in fishing, hunting and the outdoors. This makes me think that the tide slowly is turning in our favor.
